 eals Tennessee. Nelson Andrews is the founder and Chairman of the Board of
  Brookside Properties\, one of the most successful real estate firms in th
 e Southeast. His leadership and investment capital have been instrumental 
 in Brookside's acquisitions and management of a wide array of multi-family
 \, commercial\, and real estate assets throughout the country. Mr. Andrews
  was the founding President of the Nashville Better Business Bureau\, Lead
 ership Nashville\, The Vanderbilt Children's Hospital\, and the Canby Robi
 nson Society of the Vanderbilt Medical Center. He has chaired the Tennesse
 e Tax Structure Study Commission\, Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Tennessee\, a
 nd the Tennessee Board of Education. His is immediate past chairman of the
  Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and serves on the Boards of the 
 middle Tennessee YMCA\, The Frist Center for the Visual Arts\, Montgomery 
 Bell Academy\, Country Music Foundation\, Habitat for Humanity\, Lipscomb 
 University\, as well as numerous other education\, business and community 
 boards. His philanthropic contributions to our community and state are unp
 aralleled. Nelson Andrews has had a hand in shaping the past\, present and
  future of Nashville. He is married to the former Sue Adams and has five c
 hildren and 21 grandchildren.\nThe recipients of the Nashvillian of the Ye
 ar Award are chosen with consideration of a number of criteria\, including
  individual contributions to the community\, philanthropic causes\, and bu
 siness development. The award is symbolic of a generous contributor to our
  community and a leader who is working to ensure that Nashville continues
