 All arts organization executive directors and staff\, as well as individua
 l artists\, are encouraged to attend this eye-opening forum hosted by the 
 Metro Arts Commission. 'Arts In Crisis: A Kennedy Center Initiative' is a 
 50-city touring program designed to provide free planning assistance and c
 onsulting to arts organizations throughout the U.S. Michael Kaiser\, presi
 dent of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.\, will lead the forum\, offe
 ring his ideas on how arts organizations can become better during down eco
 nomic times. At the heart of Kaiser's presentation is the idea that during
  tough times\, arts organizations need to be doing more instead of less. A
 reas of discussion are fundraising\, building more effective boards of tru
 stees\, budgeting\, marketing\, technology\, and other areas pertinent to 
 maintaining a vital performing arts organization during a troubled economy
 .\nMichael Kaiser has been President of the John F. Kennedy Center since J
 anuary 2001. Dubbed 'the turnaround king' for his work at such arts instit
 utions as the Kansas City Ballet\, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\, Am
 erican Ballet Theatre and the Royal Opera House\, Kaiser has earned intern
 ational renown for his expertise in arts management. In February 2009\, he
  created 'Arts in Crisis: A Kennedy Center Initiative\,' a program to prov
 ide free arts management consulting to non-profit performing arts organiza
 tions around the United States. His latest book\, The Art of the Turnaroun
