Young children become movers and shakers in Little Builders. Children ages 2 through 7 play and learn while exploring the concepts of construction, motion and simple machines. They can hand-operate a pulley and conveyor belt to explore cause and effect, or turn the wheels of a gantry crane to transport cargo and discover mechanical physics at work. They can operate a child-sized crane to hook, lift and move objects and materials, or build structures with blocks, pipes and gears, while learning about size, weight, shape, balance, gravity and stability. Little Builders was created and is toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Portland, Oregon. Helpful Information: Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and in all areas of the Museum. Free parking for Museum visitors is available behind the Museum at the top of the hill off South Second Street. Every Sunday is free admission for everyone!
