The Tennessee Arts Commission features the new works of Jarrod Houghton of Murfreesboro. As an artist that continues to investigate the controlled conditions of idealism, Jarrod Houghton will present new work that transposes images associated with naivety and survival. Houghton states that his recent pieces "grew out of a fascination in children's toy weapons" and his collaborative efforts with painter Sisavanh Phouthavong have resulted in "rich color target paintings that function to lure the audience and expose the ugliness of our economic and political situation." Helpful Information: There will be an opening reception Saturday, December 8 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Also, the exhibit will NOT be open on December 23, 24, 25, 31 and January 1. For ADA inquiries, contact Lisa hester at (615) 532-9797.
