The best dealers, the best date, the best party, the best antiques ... Don't miss the fabulous Heart of Country 2008! Highlights of this year's show include over 120 of the most prestigious antique dealers of Americana, Folk Art, and Decorative arts, plus, the legendary gala opening night Preview Party, a premiere Gallery Booth exhibit of top dealers' private collections on view for the first time anywhere, Friday morning's popular pre-show Walking Tour guided by collector/expert tour guides, Friday afternoon lecture on "Patriotic and Political Quilts," and Saturday afternoon lecture on "American Christmas." The special magic of Heart of Country begins with the festive "Heart of Country Champagne Preview Party" on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Preview Party tickets are available in advance at $75 each or $80 at the door and includes free daily readmission. Patrons who arrive early are treated to Nashville fiddlers in the Opryland hallways and a cash bar on site. Once the preview party begins, it's the very first opportunity to purchase from the finest array in Americana and folk art, dine on the lavish buffet, and enjoy the live music. Following the Preview Night opening, the show continues on Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Daily admission on Friday and Saturday is $10. On Friday morning, February 15th at 8:30am is the popular pre-show walking tour. Take this unique journey through the show with one of several esteemed collector/experts for an insider's view of the best and most interesting items in different dealer booths. Walking Tour tickets at $25 each are available at the show. On Friday afternoon at 1:00pm Shelly Zegart, well known author, antiques dealer, quilt authority extraordinaire, and founder of the Kentucky Quilt Project, will explore the women and the times that inspired the designs prevalent in these uniquely American textiles. On Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm Bev Longacre, prominent New Hampshire antiques dealer and premiere Christmas collector presents a first ever illustrated lecture on the folk quality found in Christmas ornaments featuring her extensive collection of blown glass antique ornaments and theme decorated Christmas trees.
