The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or slowly crawling into the frigid waters of Percy Priest Lake. Proceeds from the 2008 plunge will help make it possible to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic style sporting events for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. This event will help allow these special individuals the chance to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience the joy of participating in athletic competition. You can register and take the plunge yourself, make a pledge to a braver soul, or attend the plunge and watch as hundreds of people rush to the icy waters. You will receive a special gift for your donation.
