The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) celebrates the 30th anniversary of the annual TACA Fall Crafts Fair, honoring the past 30 years beginning Friday, September 26, 2007, through Sunday, September 28 in Nashville’s Centennial Park.

Exclusive to this year’s fair, TACA has added an additional component by presenting the Guest Artist Demonstration, inaugurated in 2007 this year’s special guest is celebrated doll-maker Akira Blount and is presented in conjunction with the Tennessee State Museum. A resident of Bybee, Tenn., Akira has been creating dolls since early childhood, recently exploring non-traditional forms and the creative forces found in nature. Her pieces are found world-wide, including the Louvre, Musee Des Arts Decoratif in Paris, France. She will be demonstrating her techniques on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Get there early for this rare opportunity to see a master at work!

A signature event in Nashville’s Centennial Park the last weekend in September, TACA’s Fall Craft Fair offers shoppers the opportunity to meet and talk with exhibiting artists, enjoy children’s activities, visit special exhibits and demonstrations, and purchase a wide variety of uniquely handcrafted art.
