Half Tutsi and half Hutu, Brigitte Kitenge fled genocide in Rwanda and torture in Congo. When the genocide began, most of Brigitte's extended family was massacred. Her daughters had to be told that their mother was dead so that they could not inadvertently reveal her whereabouts as she hid from the roving death squads. Listen as she recounts terrifying memories, documented in her book, "Through it All". This account inspires audiences as she tells of the many personal adversities that she has overcome, and despite her tragedies, remains focused on helping other women rebuild their lives. Books will available for purchase and signing.
