The Association of International Champions (AIC) is an affiliate of the Barbershop Harmony Society (aka. The Society For The Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America - SPEBSQSA). Our exclusive membership is only open to quartets who have won the BHS International Quartet Contest held annually starting in 1939. Once a quartet achieves gold in the Barbershop Harmony Society that foursome NEVER competes again. The quartet name is also retired and may never be used again by another competing quartet. It was early in our history the AIC adopted the this rule and the slogan . . . "Once A Champion, Always A Champion".  While some members go on to compete and win in other quartets, for that moment in time they are the BEST in the world.
