Sara Estes studied Fine Arts since 2003 at both Middle Tennessee State University and University of Memphis. She will be continuing at Tennessee State University working towards her BFA in Painting. She currently lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee. Starting off as a mixed media artist, Sara has since simplified her choice of mediums to acrylic/oil paints. Her work is a visual confession and exploitation of personal vices and internal conflicts that exist within herself and the people around her. Sara says "I often finds myself oscillating between my naive childhood expectations. The internal balance of two personalities-the dreamer and the lush-has become an ever-increasing battle for all of us, especially those trying to survive as creative individuals in today's world. My paintings are intended to reveal the carity and simplicity of childhood dreams in contrast with the exhausting struggle to reach them." Sara's work will be on display and for sale until March 31st.
