“A cultural affair to benefit the Minnie Pearl Scholarship Program of The EAR Foundation”. The arts are inspiring whether it is musical or visual. Midsouth artists, across all mediums and genres will be on hand exhibiting their gifted talents on March 20. V102.5’s Ace is set to host the evening with musical entertainment by the phenomenal Pablo Garzon featuring Serenatta the romantic Latin ensemble and a special performance by the African Cultural Arts Center Drum and Dance Troup will certainly add to the evening’s cultural ambience. A silent auction consisting of celebrity memorabilia, “artists decorated Jack Daniels” statues as well as a hand-made Delgado guitar, specifically designed for The EAR Foundation named, “The Healer” will be a festive addition to the event.

Confirmed artists include: Carey Wilson Haynes, Tori Grant, Thom Cavin, Cheryl Stewart, Streater Spencer, Mike Severson, Tammy Stephenson, Pam Tyson, Nicelle Priebe, Tanya Radic, Garland Fulghum, Deanna Bowdish, Frank Evans, Sorrel Dugan, Aletha Carr, Ann Ellington-Wagner, Amy Severson, Miss Tennessee Grace Gore, Ray Butkus, Gary Hartsfield, Ayjey, Marcello Halmenschlager, Wilson Lee, Jr., Melonie McGee, and Anthony Billups.

In 1986, country music entertainer Sarah Cannon, also known as Minnie Pearl, was instrumental in assisting The EAR Foundation in establishing the Minnie Pearl Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was local in focus when it originated and, in 1986, one scholarship was awarded to a Nashville student for the purchase of books. The program continued to grow and, in 1989, The EAR Foundation accepted applications from across the United States. Today the Foundation is helping fund college tuition for students across the states. The Minnie Pearl Scholarship was established to offer hearing impaired students the opportunity to obtain financial assistance for higher education. The scholarship is also designed to enable these exceptional students the opportunity to continue to function as productive individuals in a hearing world. Proceeds from the art sales will be donated to this inspiring program.
