Add Review/CommentMark your calendars for the 10th Annual Nashville Screenwriters Conference (NSC). The highly acclaimed, open-to-the-public conference is set to take place May 30-June 1, 2008 at the Union Station Hotel. This year NSC brings Hollywood’s top writers to Nashville to provide aspiring screenwriters and individuals interested in the film and TV industry the opportunity to network, learn and explore employment options. For more information and updates, visit www.nashscreen.com.
NSC 2008 will feature the Music in the Movies panel, which allows songwriters to view scenes from upcoming film and television projects and submit songs for consideration, an advanced screening of HBO's newest mini-series, Generation Kill and face-to-face dialog with writers from ABC's hit drama, Grey's Anatomy. The weekend culminates in a Silver Screen Party, which features world-class songwriters in the round. Past performers include Jimmy Lauderdale, John Hiatt, Kim Richey and Mindy Smith in an intimate setting. www.nashscreen.com Attendees have said it's one of the best screenwriting conferences in the nation.
As part of a special, half-day event, screenwriter Larry Wilson will offer Method to Madness, the world’s fastest screenwriting course. The conference will also feature insight into the internet and how it is affecting the film and TV business while giving Nashville’s creative community face-to-face dialogue with the newly back-to-work film and television writers. The Music in Film & TV Luncheon will return again this year offering aspiring songwriters, composers and artists an opportunity to learn how to place their music in films and TV.
Founded in 1999, Nashville Screenwriters Conference was inspired and created by the multi-talented Karen Murphy (producer of "For Your Consideration," "A Mighty Wind," "Best in Show," "Waiting for Guffman" and "This is Spinal Tap"), Les Bohem (writer/executive producer of "Taken," "Dante’s Peak" and "Daylight"), as well as business manager and Nashville businessman, Gary Haber of Haber Corporation. The Nashville Screenwriters Conference is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
