Sinking Creek is in need of community action. The Cumberland River Compact, along with the city of Lebanon and the Wilson County Stormwater Group is hosting a cooperative clean up for Sinking Creek on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers will meet just north of the town square in the city of Lebanon near the Farmers Market. Volunteers will be provided with t-shirts, gloves, bags, refreshments and the opportunity to help make a difference in their watershed. The city of Lebanon and the Wilson County Stormwater Group are working to clean up and maintain Wilson County’s water resources, in part, through clean-up efforts in local streams. Sinking Creek is an impaired stream that runs through the cities’ centers and eventually flows into the Cumberland River.
