Our Classic Franklin tour is a daytime walking tour that provides an enlightening look at the town's past. This tour provides an overview of Franklin's history and, with something for everyone in the family. You'll get a glimpse into the lives of some of the town's most interesting people and gain an appreciation for some of the most historic buildings and the events that took place in them. You'll learn about a church for freed slaves, the antebellum courthouse, the Confederate soldier in the center of the square, a most unlikely spy, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church and its treasure in stained glass.

The Classic Franklin tour lasts about 90 minutes and covers about six wheelchair-accessible blocks. The tour is offered most days of the year, generally in the morning, although early afternoon tours can often be accommodated. Reservations must be made by 6:00pm the previous evening. Tours usually depart from Landmark Booksellers, 114 E. Main St.
