Writers of the Journey: Words Are Power 8" in honor of National Poetry Month. National Poetry Month was inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996. Two worthy poets in the Nashville community and surrounding areas receive awards each year in honor of Dr. Harriette Bias-Insignares, Official State Poet For Tennessee, and Ambassador of Letters, and Margaret Smith-Beach, Poet Laureate for the Metropolitan Nashville Retired Teacher's Association, who meet the criteria. Entertainment will be provided by Looby High Stepper and The Summer Institute Girls of the Music City Links. There will also be food and door prizes.-
