Tennessee Red Berry Tales is a collection of folklore, legends and firsthand accounts of life long ago in Union Hill, Tennessee (northern Davidson County) by award-winning poet and storyteller Bob Galbreath. Established at Union Hill in the early 19th century, Galbreath's family was one of the earliest settlers of the region. After graduating from Goodlettsville High School while running a 68-acre farm, Galbreath served as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 bomber during World War II, earning a Distinguished Flying Cross among other medals. After returning to Union Hill, Galbreath married his high-school sweetheart and opened a grocery store in 1941, which he still owns today. Galbreath and his cousin Matt Jones trade tall tales and stories at this special reading (brown bag lunches encouraged).
