In the Spring of 2006, the Tennessee Arts Commission began a two year planning process to assess the work of the agency over the past 40 years, and to lay the ground work for the years ahead. Working together, a unique methodology was put in place to gather information for the creation of a new strategic plan. Rather than holding the usual public meetings, an extensive interactive listening process was launched that resulted in a dynamic plan with solid goals and unlimited possibilities. Talk To Me, Tennessee…A Statewide Conversation About The Arts was selected for the name of the plan, and also serves as the theme of the Commission’s statewide gathering scheduled for May 12-14.

An extraordinary schedule features inspiring keynotes from nationally-recognized arts leaders, dynamic workshops and informative sessions. Join the Tennessee Arts Commission as we continue the dialog - sharing our dreams, concerns, and ideas about the role of the arts in our everyday lives. Participants will also celebrate the launch of the Statewide Public Awareness Campaign, and introduction of the Tennessee Advocacy Toolkit. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet old friends, make new friends, and share ideas with arts supporters from across the state.
