The President’s Gala has been an annual Hermitage fundraiser for many years. Initiated in 1997, the Gala has been an opportunity to present the Lewis R. Donelson Award to recognize leadership and service to outstanding individuals. Paying tribute to Senator William H. Frist include Dr. Harry Jacobson, Thomas F. Frist Jr., and Senator Lamar Alexander. The President’s Gala benefits the ongoing preservation of The Hermitage including educational programs, archaeology, restoration of buildings and grounds, and conservation of extensive collections.
