In 1977, Marty Robbins hosted his own syndicated television series, Marty Robbins' Spotlight. No stranger to the screen, Robbins had hosted the Marty Robbins Show almost a decade earlier and had appeared in numerous feature films. On air for only one year, Marty Robbins' Spotlight featured Robbins with special guests in casual dialouge and performance. His charisma and sense of humor, combined with sincere admiration for his guests, made Robbins an entertaining host, and the program a country music classic. This screening includes two thirty-minute episodes and features special guests Brenda Lee and Porter Wagoner.

My wife and I were at the museum and caught this show. We did not know about it beforehand, so we were very pleasantly surprised when we walked into the room to see this great musician and music legend and his band. Many thanks to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a thrilling afternoon. Collapse
