The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series for 2008 will feature the 1k Co-ed Walk/Run, as well as the 5K Co-ed Walk Run with wave start. Some new and exciting additions to the race this year are the Kids for the Cure, Spirit for the Cure, Susan's Garden, Who's Your Susie?, 3 Miles of Men, Sleep in for the Cure, I AM THE CURE, Survivor Trolley, Service of Hope, Parade of Pink, Pink it Forward and much, much more. The Susan G. Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Join the fight against breast cancer by registering for Race for the Cure and ask at least 10 friends to join you. The Komen Race for the Cure series is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Up to 75 percent of the net proceeds raised by Komen Greater Nashville will stay in Middle Tennessee to raise awareness and fight breast cancer. Since its origination in Dallas, Texas, in 1983, Komen Race for the Cure has grown from one local Race with 800 participants to a national series of more than 125 Races with over 1.5 million people expected to participate in 2007.
