Add Review/CommentStacey Irvin is an award-winning photographer and graphic designer living in Nashville. She graduated in 1999 with a bachelor of arts degree in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University. Irvin has traveled and photographed extensively in Asia, North America and parts of South America. She spent one month in Kenya in 2007 to document and learn more about daily life, healthcare, and micro-lending initiatives.
Artist Statement: "I have always been drawn to people who live and work with a close connection to the land. In addition, I am inspired by the experience of relating to people whose culture and daily lives are distinctly different from my own. It is increasingly important to remember our humanity, what we hold in common despite our differences. The portraits and landscapes in this exhibit are moments that reflect my experiences with people and the land in Kenya, Northwestern China, and Montana."
