Zanie's Clean Comedy Series: Henry Cho
May 21-May 22, 2008
"I'm an Asian with a Southern accent," remarks Henry Cho, a Korean-American born and raised in Tennessee. "To a lot of people, that right there is funny." Cho figures his real life is so much like a sitcom he might as well turn it into one. That's what he's done in a series now in development with CBS-TV/Paramount Studios. Cho performs at Zanie's May 21 and 22.

I did not enjoy this show. I expected a witty, funny man to entertain me. I understand AD wants to gear towards dirty, nasty angles but he just didn't do it w/ finesse and humor. I wish he'd take his talent and natural shtick and add good material w/ jokes, anecdotes and do a really funny show. He has the basic ability but seems to be thumbing his nose at the op and daring someone to actually like him! It seems self destructive that he isn't making a concerted effort to reign in his talent and hone in on something that could work for him gaining a big following, large venue demand and big $. He's about half way there. Maybe he needs a writer? Nothing wrong w/ that. Just wrong to not seek it out when the stage has been provided. Collapse

This is a show you can watch over and over again. Funny from the start to the finish. I'd never seen a hypnotist show before and I was blown away. I hung around to chat to the volunteers after the show and there was no way they were leaving without buying a DVD of the evening's show. I've heard he is going to play at Zanies for the rest of the week. I will be calling friends and going again. I can't remember laughing so hard! Collapse
