    Mozart in Wonderland

    Nashville Symphony

    February 26-February 28, 2009

    Add Review/Comment

SunTrust Classical Series presents Mozart in Wonderland featuring Nashville Symphony, Leonard Slatkin, conductor, and Hila Plitmann, soprano.

Mozart: Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550 Del Tredici: Final Alice.

Something old: Mozart's instantly recognizable 40th Symphony. Something new: David Del Tredici's hurly-burly whirlwind piece Final Alice. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Del Tredici's unclassifiable Final Alice even employs a bluesy folk band with a banjo, accordion and two saxophones.

Maureen amazed us last night with the Nashville Symphony. Her voice had perfect clarity and her range hit both ends of the spectrum. Smooth as silk and very delightful to see!
