Nashville International Airport is holding a book signing by author and cancer survivor Sigourney Cheek at the Hudson News stand next to Gate C-10 on Friday, May 9. Only ticketed passengers can attend since the store is beyond security.

Patient Siggy: Hope and Healing in Cyberspace is a powerful account of the author's battle with cancer, and how she created a community of healing in cyberspace. When first undergoing treatment for cancer, Sigourney Cheek sometimes didn't have the energy to do anything more than sleep. So she created an e-mail list of eighteen people and logged on to give updates when she could. Soon that list grew to 160 contacts. The exchange of communications became an antidote for the isolation of illness, and a rallying point of hope for Sigourney, as she faced her disease and continued to live her life with humor, realism, and joy.
