The American Diabetes Association and the Middle Tennessee Father's Day Council will honor four Nashville men at their annual Father of the Year Awards Dinner, to be held on Thursday, June 5, at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the American Diabetes Association. Each father was chosen for the award based upon his ability to balance his personal and professional lives while serving as an outstanding role model in the community. The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The association funds research, publishes scientific findings, and provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health professionals and the public. The association is also actively involved in advocating for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes.

The 2008 Father of the Year honorees are: Dr. Kevin Churchwell, CEO, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital; Dr. Keith Hagan, Urology Associates; Rob McNeilly, President and CEO, SunTrust Bank Nashville; and Ralph Schulz, President and CEO, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
