If you want an entertaining evening with Elvis, Tina Turner and Elton John a great place to be is on the General Jackson Dinner Showboat. Tribute impersonators, the General Jackson singers and dancers present a medley of Christmas songs and old favorites that will have your toes tapping, your hands clapping and you singing along. The choreography, the stunning Christmas costumes and live orchestra are rich in Christmas appeal. Elton John is probably the most flamboyant Santa you?ll ever see. Tina Turner has you Rollin? Down the River and rockin? the boat while Elvis sings Oh Come All Ye Faithful with all the passengers as the spirit of Christmas fills the boat. A hearty Christmas family style feast of salad, rolls, beef and savory stuffed chicken with yams, mashed potatoes, a vegetable medley and an incredible black forest cheese cake is served prior to the show. This is truly a family show that all will enjoy. You will find pictures at www.nashvilleeverythingdiva.com.

This year the wonderful traditional Old Hickory Steakhouse presents a special winter holiday "Old Hickory Gets Hearty" menu. The menu is a break from the fine steaks served here during the year to present hearty seasonal comfort food dishes with flare. All the creative comfort-style offerings are great but suggested features are a rich Roasted Chicken Pot Pie appetizer, the hearty Double Thick Stuffed Pork Chop, a very unique and luxurious Kobe Meatloaf and a light and tasty Pumpkin Souffle, enhanced by homemade Cinnamon Ice-cream. For an extra special treat ask for some time with knowledgeable and fun Maitre Fromager, Mr. Richard Peterson who offers an unbelievably diverse range of Artisanal cheeses and does pairing to help enhance these fine cheeses. Old Hickory will continue to offer their usual selection of fine steaks for those who find comfort in a good steak. For a more detailed review you can go to www.nashvilleeverythingdiva.com.

If you are looking for a wonderful fun-filled experience for your children this Holiday Season make sure you stop by the Gingerbread Corner at Gaylord Opryland Resort's Winter Wonderland. Gayle O'Hanlon, owner of the Enchanted Gingerbread Corp, and her elves assist both children and adults in decorating preassembled gingerbread ornaments, trees and 9 inch houses. Gayle's gingerbread creations have been featured in Oprah's O magazine and Southern Living magazine. On display in the Gingerbread Corner is a replica of the Ryman Auditorium and coming soon a replica of the General Jackson Paddleboat will also be displayed. Gayle told me that the gingerbread used contains no animal byproducts (eggs, milk or butter) and therefore has a 3 year shelf life after decorating. Pictures and a more detailed review can be found at www.nashvilleeverythingdiva.com.

The Radio City Rockettes are back with a spectacular 12 scene lavish production show that will enchant people of all ages. Santa Rockin' and Rollin', 12 Days of Christmas, and the Nutcracker Dream are just the start of a fabulous program. In the parade of the wooden soldiers the Rockettes' white pants are so heavily starched that they can stand up by themselves; sometimes the Rockettes have to climb into them from a step stool. The Rockettes have 7 costume changes including elaborate wigs. The music, dancing and singing will kick off your holiday spirit and transform your evening into one of immense joy. The show ends spectacularly with a Living Nativity complete with camels! This is a tradition begun by St. Francis of Assisi in 1223. For an entertaining and enjoyable evening to begin the holiday season there's no better place to start than with the Rockettes. Back stage pictures can be found at www.nashvilleeverythingdiva.com.

What can 35 artisans from China create with 1.5 million pounds of ice in one month working 12 hour shifts? The Grinch and Who-ville in an incredible ICE Extravaganza of color. Three 20 foot ice slides and the larger than life characters(some weighing over 2 ton) and settings from How the Grinch Stole Christmas! are a thrill for all children and the inner-child in adults. The temperature is kept at a constant 9 degrees, however, every person is given a specially designed hooded parka that will keep them comfortably warm throughout their stay. From the Grinch's frozen lair to the Who-ville Feast both young and old will find the spirit of Christmas. The last room is a spectacularly sculptured Nativity scene befitting the season and bringing incredible warmth to ICE. Remember this will be the last year The Grinch will be appearing in ICE at Gaylord's. This definitely is an experience that you and your family will remember for years to come.
