The Legacy of Stones River: Pathways to Freedom addresses the official and unofficial actions that led to the demise of slavery in middle Tennessee and the nation. In addition to excellent speakers, this event features afternoon interpretive programs at the battlefield and the remaining portion of Fortress Rosecrans, a massive earthen fortification built by the Union army after the Battle of Stones River.
