Molas, baskets, woodcarvings, pottery and reproductions of pre-Columbian gold will be on display at the Green Hills Branch Library. The Kuna Indian women are known for their colorful and intricately hand sewn mola blouses using several layers of colored fabric with a reverse applique technique. The Wounaan & Embera Indians from the rainforest in the Darien Province of Panama are master artisans known for their fine handmade coil-construction baskets delicately woven using natural fibers found in the rainforest. The male artisans create beautiful carvings from Cocobolo, a very beautiful hardwood found in the Pacific regions of Panama. An exhibit you won't want to miss!
