Pianist Joe Davidian, a recent arrival to town, is one of the Jazz Workshop's newest faculty artists and a formidable talent. He has performed with the likes of Joe Lovano, Kevin Mahogany, and Tito Puente. Joe and his trio (Jamie Ousley - bass, and Austin McMahon - drums) have garnered critical praise. They have just released their new CD, Silent Fire, which will be featured at this special Snap on 2&4 performance.

Joe Davidian Trio has performed at numerous festivals, including Festival Miami and Vermont's Discover Jazz Festival, and was invited to perform at the Ballydehob International Jazz Festival in Ireland this May. The trio has opened for Jane Monheit, Dianne Reeves and Danilo Perez, and has backed a who's who of jazz artists including Dave Liebman, Carmen Lundy, Bob Mintzer, and Ira Sullivan. Currently, JD3 is touring around the U.S. and internationally, and is planning to record a new album of original compositions this August.
