In 2007, Jabe Beyer won the BMI Music Maker Songwriting Competition and was nominated for two Boston Music Awards as well as a nomination in the WFNX Best Music Poll. His namesake band, JABE, won the Abe Oleman Songwriting Award from The Songwriting Hall of Fame as well as Boston Music Awards. Four self-produced, self-released albums along with extensive U.S. and European tours earned JABE a reputation as one of Boston's best and hardest working live acts. The Boston Globe hailed JABE as "a leader in the roots music renaissance," and Jam Magazine listed the 2-disc album Drama City at Number 2 in their Best 100 Albums of The Last 10 Years.
