Note from the Band of Heathens: We became a band by accident. We each had a residency playing in different bands, at different time slots every Wednesday night at the same club in Austin, Momo’s. We were all sitting in with each other’s bands so much that we decided to make it one big show. We called it the Good Time Supper Club. For a while we’d play with the Good Time Supper Club on Wednesdays, and then go work our solo careers and play in other bands on the weekends. But more and more people were coming to watch us play on Wednesdays. The newspaper started listing us as the Heathens. We’re not sure why. Then the Heathens had to turn into the Band of Heathens (for legal reasons), but some people still call us the Heathens.
