Add Review/CommentPulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss of The Washington Post will discuss and sign copies of his new book, "Rome 1960: The Olympics That Changed The World" on Tuesday, July 15. Maraniss has written best-sellers on Bill Clinton, Vince Lombardi, Roberto Clemente, and the Vietnam War. "Rome 1960" tells the story of the athletes and issues at the heart of the 1960 Summer Games. There is a strong Nashville connection to those games - legendary Tennessee State University women's track coach Ed Temple was the coach of the U.S. women's track team, and Tigerbelle Wilma Rudolph became a worldwide star after winning three Gold medals there. More on the book, including an extensive Q&A and a video interview shot on the TSU campus, can be found at www.davidmaraniss.com.
This event is part of the MP&F Speaker Series, an author series begun in 2004 that has brought 10 best-selling authors to town for free events.
