The purpose of the Evening with an Author series is to gather individuals who enjoy books, wine and smart conversation. The monthly series which was started in 2007 by Ginna Foster features a wide range of genres including Southern literature, personal memoir, historical fiction, cooking, poetry, mystery, business history, politics and philosophy.

For those interested, Martha's at the Plantation offers dinner and a musical performance afterwards for $25/per person.
