Judge Charles Fogg was the first African-American criminal court judge in Nashville history, but his climb up the ladder of jurisprudence wasn’t an easy one. The system that brought him from poverty in the 60s, to the police force and law school in the 70s, and ultimately to the bench, was his eventual downfall. Judge Fogg dispenses justice and wisdom, and his personal life crumbles under the expectations of power and wealth in the 80s. Judge Fogg depicts one of the most turbulent times in American history, mirroring the triumph of the Civil Rights movement in the South with the dramatic tale of an extraordinary character.
