Walk for Lupus Now is a 5K charitable walk to benefit the mid-south chapter of the Lupus Foundation. All proceeds will go toward the Foundation's programs, seminars, support groups and health symposiums for people with lupus, their caregivers, friends, and family. Click here for registration information. In addition to the walk, there will also be live music, balloon artist Cindy Black, face painting by the St. Cecelia art club, juggling and magic by The Great Scott and many other fun activities!

It is estimated that approximately 30,000 Tennesseans are affected by Lupus which affects mostly minority women of childbearing age, but can affect anyone including men and children. Lupus is a widespread disease that causes the immune system to become hyperactive and lose the capacity to distinguish the body's healthy cells from foreign invaders.
