Probably nothing takes more of the pleasure of out parenting than sibling bickering. Dr. Anthony Wolf describes the current mainstream parenting strategy based on negotiation and reasonableness and how and why that strategy does not work. He then discusses three basic rules for sibling bickering, the role of fairness in dealing with siblings and real inequalities.

Dr. Anthony Wolf is a practicing clinical psychologist, best-selling author and father of two. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York and completed his undergraduate work at Columbia College. For the past 25 years he has been in private practice seeing children and adolescents in the Springfield, Massachusetts area.

Dr. Wolf has written several books, including “Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Cheryl and Me to the Mall?” and “The Secret of Parenting, How to be in Charge of Today's Kids - from Toddlers to Preteens - Without Threat or Punishment.” He is also a frequent contributor to parenting magazines and has appeared on many television shows including "Today" and "The View."

The lecture series is made possible by the Edna S. Thomas Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, established in 2000 by Thomas’ daughter, Judy Lewis, as a tribute to her mother’s outstanding parenting skills. The Fund endows the annual lecture series to provide tools for parents and educators to raise healthy children.
