The annual Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup was established to serve as a fundraiser for the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl designated charities. The inaugural event was held October 14-15, 2007, at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and the exclusive Golf Club of Tennessee.

The unique two day event featured administrators, influential donors and celebrity alumns from Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) member institutions, headlined by PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Brandt Snedeker and 1975 U.S. Open champion Lou Graham. Ninety-six participants enjoyed a high-end opening night reception featuring live entertainment provided by world-renowned comedian Henry Cho. The following day participants enjoyed a Ryder Cup style golf tournament at The Golf Club of Tennessee. Team SEC prevailed over Team ACC, 55-41.

The 2007 Franklin American Mortgage Charity Cup raised $50,000 for The First Tee Program of Nashville and the Youth Football Program of the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl.

A special thanks to Dan Crockett and Franklin American Mortgage Company for their lead sponsorship. Other event sponsors include Bridgestone Golf, Gaylord Hotels, Outback Steakhouse and The Golf Club of Tennessee.
