Add Review/CommentNashville Area Arts (NAA) presents A Nashville Artists Studio Tour on Saturday, September 13, 2008, from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Over thirty private artists’ studios and workshops located throughout Davidson County will open their doors to the public for this one-day only event. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on the day of event; a map with all studio locations will be provided with ticket purchase.
The NAA Nashville Artists Studio Tour offers Nashville natives, tourists, and local university students the chance to visit private artists’ studios throughout Davidson County. Tour goers can meet the artists, learn more about their processes, and purchase artwork directly from them. Artists and groups participating in the tour include: Adrienne Outlaw, Chris Scarborough, Kelly Williams, Stacey Irvin, Alan LeQuire, John Guider, Annie Freeman, Joe Sorci, Myles Maillie, Toni Hooper, Brenda Stein, and the Plate Tone Printshop.
The evening before the tour, NAA will host a Juried Studio Tour Preview Exhibition & Celebration. This juried exhibition will take place on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 6-9 pm at Belmont University’s Leu Center for the Visual Arts. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door, which supports the Studio Tour.
Since 2005, Nashville Area Arts (NAA) has been working to provide information on the visual arts in Middle Tennessee and to facilitate dialogue between Nashville artists, local art institutions, visiting artists, writers, and curators. The 2008 Nashville Artists Studio Tour is part of a larger effort by NAA to increase awareness of local artists among the community at large. It will be the first city-wide open studio tour since 2002.
