In The Round Literary Night with Marshall Chapman, Clyde Edgerton, RB Morris and Tommy Womack. Not only does Ms. Chapman know how to write a great song (Betty’s Bein’ Bad, Bad Debt, Better Of Without You), she can also write a great book (Goodbye, Little Rock and Roller – and she has a second book in the works!). I like to think of her as a rock ‘n’ roll author. It suits her! The same can be said for her talented counterparts this evening; local songwriting fave Womack is also a noted author – (his latest writing endeavor is the novella Elsie and the Lavender Boys). Joining these rock ‘n’ roll scribes ITR is novelist Edgerton (The Bible Salesman) – he is also a songwriter! So is Morris. He’s a singer, songwriter, poet, author. . . and when you really stop and think about it, all of these things really do go hand in hand. . . thus ensuring an evening of interesting stories and the songs they sometimes inspired as the The ‘Bird continues its longtime tradition of hosting writers of both music and literature.
