    Holly Street Daycare will raise money to help subsidize childcare for low-income families at a wine tasting event with entertainment provided by Chuck Mead and the Grassy Knoll Boys on October 11 at LP Field's West Stadium Club. The fundraiser, Holly Street Rocks, is in its fifth year. The event is open to the public and will include wines and premium beers provided by Midtown Wine and Spirits as well as dancing to the sounds of the self-proclaimed "uncompromising hillbilly band." Tickets are available by phone, online or at Midtown Wine and Spirits.

    Chuck Mead was cofounder of the three-time Grammy nominated band BR549. Holly Street Daycare families have created this unique event to bridge the gap for working families who might not otherwise be able to afford the level of service provided by the center. It ensures that the children attending Holly Street represent the rich diversity of the entire Nashville community. In addition to the music and refreshments, Holly Street Rocks features a raffle for $2000 in cash prizes, an exciting live auction offering amazing trips and a Gibson guitar, and a huge silent auction with items ranging from hot air balloon rides to sumptuous dining experiences to home decorating consultations. Online bidding for silent auction items is available now through the event. Holly Street Daycare, 1401 Holly St., is a three-star, nationally accredited, 501c3 non-profit child care program that has been in operation since 1983. It also is a United Way partner. The center provides high-quality care for an economically diverse population of over 100 children. This event serves to boost the Tuition Subsidy Fund, allowing the center to maintain its service to all its children, 40 percent of whom are at risk of losing daycare due to increasing costs and decreasing government and agency funding.
