Trace Adkins and Lynyrd Skynyrd will ring in 2009 by both playing two New Year's Eve shows -- in two different cities. The country hitmaker and the Southern rock legends will appear in both Pikeville, Kentucky, and Nashville to usher in the New Year. To accommodate their respective travel schedules, each artist will open one show and headline the other.

Trace Adkins is a multi-faceted entertainer who has clearly earned his place among country’s most identifiable and important artists of his generation. Twelve years into his recording career as a country chartbuster, with dozens of hits under his belt and nine top-selling albums, Adkins has racked up a long string of hits including his recent chart-toppers "You're Gonna Miss This" and "Ladies Love Country Boys.”

Ranked as one of the best-selling artists of all time by the Recording Industry Association of America and named one of the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, Lynyrd Skynyrd is still going strong with over 26 million CD's sold to date, and over 80 live performances annually. The band is currently writing the follow-up to their 2003 release Vicious Cycle that spawned the hit single, “Red White and Blue.”
