Tonight's feature is Noodle, Israel, 2007, 90 min., in Hebrew and Mandarin with English subtitles, Director: Ayelet Menahemi
Screenwriters: Shemi Zarhin, Ayelet Menahemi, Featuring Mili Avital, Baoqi Chen, Anat Waxman, Alon Aboutboul, Iftach Klein. Winner, Grand Jury Prize and Best Screenplay, 2007 Montreal World Film Festival.

Romance, comedy and social issues combine for a tasty delight in the engaging Noodle. At thirty-seven, the melancholic Miri is a twice-widowed, El Al flight attendant. Her well-regulated if unexciting existence is suddenly turned upside down when her Chinese cleaning lady asks her to watch her young son while she runs an errand but never returns. Discovering that the mother, an illegal immigrant, was summarily deported, Miri recruits friends and family to help her find a way to reunite mother and son. Noodle is a touching comedy-drama in which two human beings accompany each other on a remarkable journey, one that takes them both back to a meaningful life.
