Enjoy coffee and a sneak peek at documentaries from the new season of the Grammy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens in this new monthly film series, followed by lively discussions about some of today's key social issues. This month, the local premiere of Lioness directed by Meg McLagan and Daria Sommers, about female soliders in Iraq, shipped out as cooks, clerks and mechanics and returned a year later as part of America's first generation of female combat veterans. It's an intimate look at war through the eyes of women and the U.S. military policy that bans them from combat. Co-presented with WNPT and the Independent Television Service (ITVS).
