    A film series looking at lives touched by HIV/AIDS around the world. The film series runs from the 20th through the 23rd of November at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. Each evening a different country is featured, followed by a moderated discussion led by a country expert. The discussion revolves around the World AIDS Day theme of Leadership. 

    Film Series schedule:
    Nov. 20 - Film: My Own Country is based on an autobiography by the foreign doctor in rural East Tennessee who treated the region's first HIV patients in the 1980's. Discussion led by Steve Raffanti, MD.
    Nov. 21 - Double Feature: Revelación/Disclosure and Absolutely Positive. In Revelación/Disclosure, Cindy has the support of her friends to be the woman she wants to be, friends and a boyfriend she trusts and loves. One desperate choice changes her life. In Absolutely Positive, Dennis, a high-school student whose mother has recently died of AIDS, wrestles with both his HIV status, and with telling his new girlfriend about his status.
    Nov. 22 - Film: Remembering the Cosmos Flower. Akiko and her mother return to their village in Japan after 7 years in South America where the teenager contracted HIV. The whole town shuns her, but her childhood best friend comes to the rescue and together they face the town and its fear of exposure. Discussion led by Sten Vermund, MD, PhD.
    Nov. 23 - Documentary: Sons of Lwala. Milton and Fred Ochieng' are brothers from Kenya whose village sent them to the United States to attend college. Milton is a 2008 graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and Fred is currently a 3rd year medical student at Vanderbilt. The brothers are in the process of fulfilling their father's dream of building a medical clinic for their village. This is the story of the incredible journey of Sons of Lwala. Discussion led by Fred Ochieng'.
