The Scholars Academy at Middle Tennessee State University will honor Kevin Churchwell, M.D., CEO of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University, and Darrell Freeman, CEO of Zycron Inc., at its inaugural black tie fundraiser to be held on Thursday, November 13 at the Presidential Portico of Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville. Vicki Yates of NewsChannel 5 is the MC, with live music by Grammy Award winner and MTSU faculty member Cedric Dent and others. The Scholars Academy selected the honorees in recognition of their significant contributions to education, leadership, diversity and human rights.
