I saw Maddie at the Georgia Fiddlers' Convention this past weekend. WHAT a fiddler! Thank you, Maddie, from the guy who was getting in everyone's way taking all those photos!

Years ago Deanna Bryant walked the rooms of the Country Music Hall of Fame just like any other fan of country music, but she had a dream of one day playing there herself. That dream was realized today, and her emotion and energy were raw as she brought to the SRO crowd at Ford Theater three great songs. Admitting to the audience that she was "teary-eyed" in the green room, she spoke of her dreams before she moved from Childress, TX. "Stupid Boy" moved the house of listeners to the point of having to sing along with the composer. The monster hit, "Johnny and June," evoked cheers and whistles from the otherwise enrapt audience. "Hard to Be a Hippie" let the audience members see a different style that Deanna also masters. Deanna educated her audience answering questions from fans and aspiring songwriters. Her humor was authentic as boistrous laughter could be heard outside the doors of the theater. Anyone fortunate enough to catch this short show will remember Deanna Bryant. Collapse

Matt Combs is an incredibly versatile musician with a wealth of experience and a bottomless pit of things to say, musically. He has a startlingly "Grapelliesque" ease in his commands of his instrument. He just goes from strength to strength. An unmistakable sound, an unmistakably generous guy. Don't miss him! Collapse

Billy Contreras is a great jazz musican but I especially enjoyed his concert playing the old fiddle tunes he knows and plays so well. When his wife, Amanda, sings along as she did with several old country tunes, it's even better. Where can we hear more music like this from them? I'm willing to travel! Collapse

My wife and I were at the museum and caught this show. We did not know about it beforehand, so we were very pleasantly surprised when we walked into the room to see this great musician and music legend and his band.
