Add Review/CommentA touching, excellent ride! This warm-hearted comedy that captured the Pulitzer Prize, tells the story of the surprising friendship that grows between tiny yet tenacious Daisy Werthan, an independent Jewish widow, and Hoke, the soft-spoken yet proud Africian American chauffeur hired by her son after she crashes another car. At first, Daisy's stubbornness and cultural prejudices cause much friction, but Daisy, Hoke and her son, Boolie, grow over the span of 25 years, during the tidal waves of change in the American South. We watch as these two seemingly very different people discover how much they truly have in common.
