The Lipscomb University Theater Program presents Shorts!, a collection of six short contemporary plays directed by students and theater faculty in Shamblin Theatre on the Lipscomb campus. The six plays, exploring relevant topics such as dating, academia and failed dreams, will provide both serious drama and comedic fun, said theater program director Mike Fernandez.

The works making up Shorts! include: "Sure Thing," directed by Lipscomb freshman Justin Tays; "Misreadings," directed by freshman Ryan Malone; "The Actor's Nightmare," directed by Nashville theater educator Christopher Peck; "The Man Who Couldn't Dance," directed by sophomore Shannon Boyter; "Words Word Words," directed by junior Caitlin Nicholas; and "Baseball is Life," an original work by Peck, directed by Lipscomb theater instructor Deb Holloway.

Shorts! includes a cast of 30 and entertaining monologues will be performed between each play. Seating is limited. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Invisible Children, a charity assisting African children who have been adversely affected by war.
