Lone Official and Altered Statesmen split 45 release show with Small Axe at the Basement!

When Matt Button moved from Louisville to Nashville, he landed a job at local favorite hang out spot Springwater tending the bar. He brought with him a handful of songs he had been working on during his years of playing drums in Kentucky. It wasn't long before he played them for Nashville audiences on the Springwater stage. Soon Ben Martin, an in demand local musician who's played with Lambchop and Justin Earle, set up his drums and began backing Matt up. Other musicians joined up including Sami Elamri and Brian Nichols from the band Trophy, and Ryan Norris and Eric Williams from the group Character. Lone Official was born.

The Altered Statesman is both a recorded and live performance musical situation created in 1998 by Steve Poulton as an outlet for his songs. The current lineup includes Scot Martin on drums, with regular assistance from Jennifer Halenar on violin and Joe McMahan appearing in the role of musical swiss-army knife.
