Yonder Mountain String Band returns to Nashville! Bands aren't immune to the old adage that "necessity is the mother of invention." Yonder Mountain String Band is a perfect example. They officially dubbed themselves a band in December 1998 in order to nab an opening gig at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, their loose, feel-good sound has forged a bond between newgrass and jam rock, making them a staple at festivals across the country. That half the band's six records are of live sets speaks volumes about YMSB's vibe. You've got to be there and feel it for yourself.
